Korowai Changes

 Hello Bloggers!

On Tuesday I researched the changes in Korowai Cloaks and found that not much has changed.               The only thing that has significantly changed is the designs, the designs have increased in variety.

Here is an example of old and new Korowai Cloaks.

As you can see the pattern and colours have changed, but those are basically the only thing that has changed. Here's my slide!

Have you ever wore a Korowai?

See you later!

Leaders Camp

 Hello Bloggers

On Monday and Tuesday, I was at a leaders camp in Papanui.

We played some games and did some teamwork activities as well as learning 6 habits some of the greatest leaders have.

One of the most important habits I learned was to be proactive instead of reactive.                                           Being reactive is blaming others, getting mad, holding grudges, etc, being proactive is to be calm, confronting, forgive, etc.

Another important habit is prioritizing, to be good at prioritizing you need to think about the things that you need to do instead of what you want to do. for example, you need to do homework, chores, etc and things you'll want to do are video games playing outside, etc.

In this activity, we had to trust each other and all lean back at the same time whilst holding the rope, once we had shown we could successfully do that we put Jordan on top of the rope, using the tension we made on the rope Jordan didn't fall off.

In my opinion, the leader's trip was fun and I learned lots of things.
That's all, Bye!

All about Rockets!

Hello Bloggers, this term for inquiry we've been learning about rockets!

Near the end of the term we made a video in our groups on our knowledge of rockets and we made it dry humour, this made our video look odd but know it's meant to be like that.

Our group had a lot of fun filming this so I hope you have fun watching it.

That's our video.

I hope you liked it!

What did you learn? What would your rocket look like?

Ka kite!

Percy the Penguin!

 Hello Bloggers!

For the past couple of weeks, the art extension group has been working on Percy the penguin, Percy will be put in town as part of a scavanger hunt like the giraffe one we did a couple years ago.

The theme we did for Percy was New Zealand, we thought of somethings that make our country special and we painted them onto Percy so it looks like a cloak/korowai. We've finished painting but over the holidays our teachers will be adding some finishing touches.

Now the moment you've been waiting for, here's Percy...

This is Percy, as you see he's covered in the things that make NZ, on the flippers there's a Poi and New Zealand, on the tail is the Kia Kaha symbol. On the front and back are lots of other cool things.

What's your favourite part on Percy?

What represents New Zealand to you??

That's all - bye!

Python PSA

 Hi Bloggers!

Today I made a PSA using python, PSA means Public Service Announcement, mine is on not littering because it's causing animals to die and destroy our environment. Because my target audience is school kids because sometimes they leave wrappers behind after eating, I made it a school to show them what to do. Python is a computer language/code that I used to make the PSA. The one I made had interactive features so you could put the rubbish into the bin but unfortunately, the website can't share stuff so I took some screenshots.

Here is the code I had!

Here is my PSA, each screenshot is in order of what happens.

That's all!
Have you made a PSA, what did you make it on?

What would you make a PSA on?

BYE!!
