In Literacy, we tried making poems in a similar style of Dr. Seuss.
The reason we're doing this is that we are learning about children's books and how to write one, and what to include.
Here is my poem (It's not meant to make complete sense).
Bill and Phil went to the windmill.
They grabbed the grill and it made a shrill.
Bill went to cook the chook.
Phil threw his hook at the book that was next to the chook.
Bill felt ill and Phil gave him a lick and told him he was sick.
Bill did miss Phil so he gave him a kiss.
With my poem, the word chook means chicken, because apparently it's a strange word and not many people use it.
That's all!
What's your favourite Dr Seuss Book?
Have you ever written a poem?
