The Murky Murderer

 Hey folks.

This could potentially be my last blog post since it's the end of the year. I've been blogging since year five so it's been 4 years I hope you've enjoyed my blog!

This week I made a supervillain called gretgy. We needed to write their backstory and draw our hero or villain, here is the backstory.

When they were young a riptide swept them out to sea and they drowned but they swallowed a toxic fish

that had been swimming in infected water. When they swallowed the fish its poison infected them and

they turned part fish. Now they seek vengeance on adults that didn’t save them and young children.

I also wrote a review on the show Gilmore Girls, if you haven't watched it then you should.

Gilmore Girls is a 7 season tv series

It’s a Comedy Drama series About a Mum and her daughter and their life.

Out of ten, I’d rate it a 9/10

This is because it’s interesting without being too much and there’s always something happening without it being too overwhelming, the characters are all very different but work well together to make Stars Hollow. The show goes at a good speed and you could watch it whilst doing something else or just sit and watch. The reason why it’s not a 10/10 is because of Dean. He’s nice at the start but once he and Rory break up he becomes a jerk and when he’s married and the actor is kind of a bum.

Also, Rory gets worse and worse over time.

Hope you've enjoyed my blog, Bye.

Our Backyard!

Hello Bloggers, since the pandemic we haven't been able to fly in or out of the country. This has caused local businesses that are more for tourists to suffer. So we made a radio ad challenging kiwis to explore their own backyard, which means go and visit another part of New Zealand to have fun and support businesses there. We chose the region Manawatu since it's kind of a forgotten part of New Zealand and it's actually a pretty cool place.

Here is our radio ad!

Hope you like our ad and maybe it'll persuade you to go into your backyard.
Will you travel in New Zealand these Holidays?
Have you heard of Manawatu?

See you later, Bye!

Hangis And Technology

 Hey Bloggers,

Recently I've been looking at the changes between then and now Hangis. Not much has changed apart from how long it takes to cook.

I've made a slide showing how it was in the past, how it is now and the similarities they share.

As you can see Hangis are still traditional but they have improved to make it easier and quicker for people who haven't got enough time to do a traditional Hangi but still want one.
But traditional hangis took over a day to prepare and around 4 hours cooking time aswell as preparing food.

Have you ever had a traditional Hangi?
Have you used a Hangi cooker?
Comment some feedback and I'll try comment back!
See you later!

Korowai Changes

 Hello Bloggers!

On Tuesday I researched the changes in Korowai Cloaks and found that not much has changed.               The only thing that has significantly changed is the designs, the designs have increased in variety.

Here is an example of old and new Korowai Cloaks.

As you can see the pattern and colours have changed, but those are basically the only thing that has changed. Here's my slide!

Have you ever wore a Korowai?

See you later!

Leaders Camp

 Hello Bloggers

On Monday and Tuesday, I was at a leaders camp in Papanui.

We played some games and did some teamwork activities as well as learning 6 habits some of the greatest leaders have.

One of the most important habits I learned was to be proactive instead of reactive.                                           Being reactive is blaming others, getting mad, holding grudges, etc, being proactive is to be calm, confronting, forgive, etc.

Another important habit is prioritizing, to be good at prioritizing you need to think about the things that you need to do instead of what you want to do. for example, you need to do homework, chores, etc and things you'll want to do are video games playing outside, etc.

In this activity, we had to trust each other and all lean back at the same time whilst holding the rope, once we had shown we could successfully do that we put Jordan on top of the rope, using the tension we made on the rope Jordan didn't fall off.

In my opinion, the leader's trip was fun and I learned lots of things.
That's all, Bye!

All about Rockets!

Hello Bloggers, this term for inquiry we've been learning about rockets!

Near the end of the term we made a video in our groups on our knowledge of rockets and we made it dry humour, this made our video look odd but know it's meant to be like that.

Our group had a lot of fun filming this so I hope you have fun watching it.

That's our video.

I hope you liked it!

What did you learn? What would your rocket look like?

Ka kite!

Percy the Penguin!

 Hello Bloggers!

For the past couple of weeks, the art extension group has been working on Percy the penguin, Percy will be put in town as part of a scavanger hunt like the giraffe one we did a couple years ago.

The theme we did for Percy was New Zealand, we thought of somethings that make our country special and we painted them onto Percy so it looks like a cloak/korowai. We've finished painting but over the holidays our teachers will be adding some finishing touches.

Now the moment you've been waiting for, here's Percy...

This is Percy, as you see he's covered in the things that make NZ, on the flippers there's a Poi and New Zealand, on the tail is the Kia Kaha symbol. On the front and back are lots of other cool things.

What's your favourite part on Percy?

What represents New Zealand to you??

That's all - bye!
