My Last Week of Online School!

This week is my last week of online learning!
I'm excited and sad about going back because even though I get to see my friends I like learning in my own environment.
In this blog post, I'm going to tell you my favourite Literacy and Numeracy of the week along with my Friday Tasks!

For Numeracy this week I learned how to multiply, divide, add, and subtract fractions.
We did some questions to get the hang of it and show our understanding and then we had to do an escape room. I liked the first one more because you were trying to solve a secret recipe to escape!

For Literacy this week my favourite task was taking a part of the wizard of Oz and flipping it in to something darker.
Here it is!
Dorothy had just returned back to the emerald city after slaughtering the Wicked Witch with the Tin Woodman’s Axe and the Lion ripping her into a thousand pieces.
Dorothy and the rest of her group took the head of the witch back to Oz as proof of her death. Dorothy and the Tin Woodman were holding the head by the witches fried black hair, her skin was a light grey and blood kept dripping down and had made a purple trail of blood showing where they had come from. They had been walking for a night and half a day now and they were getting hungry but had no food at all, and they could only see grass in every direction. While Dorothy went into some bushes looking for berries, or anything edible The Lion snapped and looked at Toto, The Lion got low and pounced at Toto and bit him right in the middle! Toto barked and whimpered and howled just hoping Dorothy would come and save her, while Toto barked the Tin Woodman started crying because he had to watch the poor dog die and that made him rust before he could even think about hurting the Lion with his axe.

By the time Dorothy came back, the Lion had eaten Toto and dented the Tin Woodman beyond repair and ripped up the scarecrow, when Dorothy came back and saw straw everywhere she screamed and yelled at the Lion “What have you done?! And where is Toto!??”
The Lion looked at her and said: “I’m so sorry, I couldn’t help myself!”

Dorothy looked at the Lion with the Tin Woodman’s axe in her hand and said: “How dare you, I let you come with me to Oz, I was trying to help you but now, now that you have destroyed the rest of my friends here I’m going to destroy you!!” With that Dorothy swung the Woodman’s axe and the Lions head just flew right off and blood went everywhere but Dorothy just had to keep going and try to forget.

Last but not least are my Friday tasks!
This Friday I made a perfect environment for my chosen animal and created a bedroom I would like.

For my chosen animal I picked my brother so in his sanctuary I have
  • A PS4
  • Fortnite
  • A couch that folds out to a bed
  • Lots of water
  • Drawers
  • Shelves
  • Food Cupboard
  • And a trampoline
To finish the online activities I made a bedroom on Minecraft.

The bedroom included
  • A bed (obviously)
  • Chests/Drawers to put stuff in
  • Lots of books to keep you entertained
  • A desk to draw and do school work.
  • And a computer.

These were my favourite activities of the week!
What would be in your dream room?
Have you ever done an escape room?
Bye!!

My Friday Learning!

Hi guys!
This Friday I made 90-second art on Colour Push you should give it a try!
I did heaps of pictures and the website was really easy to use!

I also did tech, for tech this week I chose the activity where I got a piece of old clothing and made it into something new. I tried to make a dog plush from socks.
Here is the before picture of the two socks.
And the finished result!
Obviously, this isn't great but it's good from the resources I had.
Next time I would find a sock that was plan white and buy felt so then the face could be more detailed.

That was my Friday tasks, See you next time!

My Lovely Learning!

Hi Readers,
This week I only had 3 days of school since Monday was ANZAC day and Tuesday was Teacher only day.
For math, we learned about how to use a Cartesian plane and how to do transformations on it.
I found these tasks relatively easy since I was already familiar with Cartesian planes.

The first two transformations we looked at on the Cartesian Plane were Translation and Reflection, and on Monday we'll be looking at Resizing and Rotation.
The images above are three shapes and the transformations of them.

For Literacy this week we looked into the themes of Perseverance and Home from The Wizard of Oz.
These are my answers to some perseverance questions,

And the questions on the theme of home.
You may notice it says Q2 & Q3 that's because the first question is to do with the end of the book and I haven't quite finished yet.

Last but not least for Friday Fun day I made a board game and a made-up animal.

I can't include a picture of the board game because I haven't coloured it yet, but I can show you the rules for 'Escape the Upside-down'
*Sorry I can't, it won't let me send through the email.*

For my animal, I made a Zataphant which is a cross between a Cat, Zebra, and an Elephant.
*Same here :'(*
That's all for this week!
See you next week!

Day 5 Week 2 of Online school!

Hi Bloggers!
Today I kept myself busy by making poppies, turning phrases into emojis, and writing about my Android.

My first activity was turning a reusable new world bag into a poppy.
for this, I used the bag, wood, hammer, nails, scissors, paint, and paintbrushes.
I cut the bag into circles and put a black circle in the middle then I put the nail in the center and hammered the circles together, then I hammered them into the wood.
I thought it looked kind of boring so I painted the wood green as if it was a stem.

Then I looked at some phrases I liked and tried to turn them into emojis.
Can you guess what they are? Comment what you think!

Last but not least is all the things you need to know about my Android.

I won't be posting till Wednesday because of the long weekend, stay safe, Bye!

Day 4 Week 2 of Online learning!

Hi Readers,

Today I started off with Literacy, I had to write what I thought it meant to have brains.

In math, I started creating an Android and writing down what transformations I had to use for each object.

This is my Android, I may do some changes tomorrow.
It isn't what I would call your stereotypical android, the features on it are definitely different, some of the features are...

  • The shades
  • The beautiful moustache
  • The QR code with a custom message
  • And the bumps on the top say 'Made by Kasey'
Stay safe!

Day 3 Week 2 of Online school!

Hi Bloggers!

For Literacy, we had to describe what courage was to us.
And here is my mathematics
This is my Scale model of the Big Ben, the circles represent the clock.
As you can see I've written out the Dimensions of the Real and Scale versions of Big Ben along with the scale factor.

Also in my last blog post, I mentioned that I had started drawing the Tinman for my creative art but since then I decided to be more creative and attempted to turn my self into the Tinman.
This was challenging because I didn't have any grey or silver eyeshadow or face paint.
So to make the grey I made that part of my face completely white and put some black on top.
Then the tinfoil hat was very enjoyable to wear. The hat was so comfortable to wear that I wore it on my walk. (Yes I got some funny looks)

Stay home, bye!

Day 2 Week 2 of Online school!

Hi bloggers,
Today for Literacy I had to write what it means to me to have heart.

To me to have a heart means to be living and to be in the world, but to have heart means to care for others not just yourself, to be kind, and considerate and to look after your loved ones and the people around you.
And for numeracy, I had to pick a landmark and research its dimensions, I made a ruff version of what it would look like on Tinkercad so I could make sure the measurements are right. I chose the Big Ben and I got the measurements from this website all about the big ben
I also started to draw the Tinman and I'll post the drawing when I've finished.
Stay safe!
Bye :)

Day 1 Week 2 of online school!

Kia Ora bloggers,
Today I did...
This is my summary of the first 4 chapters of the Wizard of  Oz.

For Numeracy, we had to make a house that had at least 1 bathroom, 1 Kitchen, and 2 bedrooms and the area had to be less than 8000mm.

I've colour coded the rooms.
Red is the kitchen,
Orange is the lounge,
Yellow is the Bathroom,
Green is the Hallway,
Blue is the first bedroom
And purple is the second bedroom.
Together the area came to exactly 8000mm,
I found the math easy but this task took longer than I thought it would because of Tinkercad.
I found that the controls are unnecessarily difficult to use and the site wasn't very user friendly.
I hope that in the future I am given the chance to use other sites.

Have you used Tinkercad before?
Stay safe and stay home!
Bye.

Day 3 of online school!

Sorry, I forgot to do the blog post on Friday but don't worry I still did some work!
I designed a witch and gave it a back story,
I'm sorry you can't see the drawing well but when I coloured it in it looked way worse so this is what you get.

I also made some Wizard of Oz art, It's Dorothy walking down the yellow road.

The drawing isn't too great but I like it.
Also, I don't like the fact that I used lined paper but I had nothing else.

Do you like cats or dogs better? Comment your opinion!
Stay safe and Stay home!
Bye!

Day 2 online school!

I don't really know what to say so... here are the tasks I did today!

Here is some of my Numeracy I did today!
I got (going top to bottom) a table, a magnet, a funko vinyl pop, and earth.

We had to estimate how much the object would way then how much it would weigh in different measurements.

For Literacy, we had to think about what movies or books were similar to the wizard of Oz
I chose Alice in Wonderland because both books have a female protagonist that befriends the different creatures to help.
Have you seen/read the Wizard of Oz?
If so, what book or movie do you think is similar?
Stay safe and see you tomorrow!

Day 1 of online school!

Hello Readers,
Today I started with doing a video chat with my literacy teacher so I knew what my tasks would be.
I started by making a schedule.
This is my schedule for the week, I put Richie Tozier on the days I didn't have school.
I then did a slide on how I view the Wizard of Oz.

I got this from the mickey version called the wizard of Dizz. I added some different things though.

Stay safe and see you tomorrow!

Day 4 of home schooling!

Kia Ora Bloggers!
I won't be too active on my blog for the next to weeks since it'll technically be the school holidays.

Anyway, Today I started with a puzzle that had 136 pieces in it!
I gave myself a goal to finish it in under 30 minutes.
Unfortunately, I went over my goal and finished it in just under 35 minutes.

This picture was my progress after 5 minutes, I had only done 8%.

This was my progress in 15 minutes, I was nearly half done on 41%.

This is with 1 piece remaining, the reason I screenshot the end result before I actually finished was so you could see all the individual pieces.

After that, I did some rounds of Uno with my brother and won nearly every round.

And to finish off the day I read a book.

Please stay home and stay safe!

Day 3 of home schooling!

Today I started off with a Sudoku and I would include a screenshot but it unfortunately reset when I finished it!
The Sudoku took me a long time to do, I found it so hard I asked my family for help and they couldn't even figure it out!
So when I did complete it I was very happy.

I also decided to draw so I drew a Minecraft Wolf/Dog following an Art for kids tutorial.
Here is my drawing, It took me just over an hour to complete!
Next time I think I would use a ruler to make the lines straighter and find a lighter grey felt because in my opinion it looks too dark.
I think I did an ok job for my first try and I think adding the nametag up the top makes the drawing better.

I also played operation with my little brother (he won)
So now I'm going to spend my free time doing a 5 R badge.

Stay safe and see you in my next post!

Day 2 of home schooling!

Hey Bloggers!
Today I did a book cover, a presentation on Bill Hader, and some weeding in the garden since it was sunny!

Here is my presentation on Bill Hader!
I chose Bill because me and my friends love the shows and movies he is in, he has great acting skills, and he is super hilarious!
My presentation includes a biography, some movies and TV shows he has been in and a few fun facts.

I did my book cover on IT, I have to admit it took a while to do because I could have made a thousand different covers for this book!
Maybe tomorrow I'll do another cover for this book.

I decided to make the cover a black figure so the reader doesn't know what 'it' is, I wrote the blurb on how I would describe the book to someone else.
I made it short, sharp, and interesting so the reader wouldn't get bored.
I included some reviews at the bottom so the reader could see what other people thought of it.
I found making this cover a little hard because this book already exists so I had to try and change it up from the original.

In my little cacti garden I did some weeding and pulled out a decent amount of weeds, my garden looks a lot nicer now!

Who is your favourite actor?
What book are you reading at the moment?
Do you own any cacti?

Stay safe and see you tomorrow!

Day 1 of home schooling!

For the next couple of weeks since the school closed, I'll be doing online school so every day I'll post a blog post about what activities I have done.
I will be trying to do at least  3 activities off the sheet I have been given!

Today I did 2 digital puzzles and abstract art using plants I found outside.
This puzzle I chose took me 15 minutes to complete, it had 40 pieces in it.
In my opinion, this was a pretty hard puzzle to do because all the green pieces match each other, and all the blue pieces look exactly the same.
This is the second puzzle I did and this one is a scene off of IT when they are looking for Bens old hut,
this scene includes (going left to right) Bill Hader as Richie Tozier, Jessica Chastain as Beverly Marsh, James McAvoy as Bill Denbrough, James Ransone as Eddie Kaspbrak, Isaiah Mustafa as Mike Hanlon, and Jay Ryan as Ben Hanscom.
The puzzle was 60 pieces and it only took me 17 minutes to complete, I think the reason why I finished this reasonably quickly was because I really wanted to see the end result because it was something I enjoy more.

And last but not least I made a Nature Burrito,
To make this I used leaves, flower petals, bark, a hair tie to hold everything together, and some coins to throw in something different.

Stay safe and see you tomorrow!
