Hi Bloggers!
This week was my first week back at school, it was great to see everyone!
For Literacy I get to make a website using new google sites all about Oz, I'll upload it once I've completed it.
The website has 3 symbols, themes, and characters that are important to the book and film.
The symbols I chose were the yellow brick road, Dorothy's slippers, and the Emerald City,
My Characters are Dorothy, The Tin Woodman, and The Wizard of Oz,
And my Themes are Home, Friendship, and Power.
For Numeracy, I learned how to do python which is basically computer language.
I had to change how I worded equations. For example, instead of using an x for multiplication I used * and instead of 22or3 I used ** then the number I needed.
Here are some examples.
If the equation is 72-3+5x2=
In python, you would put 7**2-3+5*2=
If the equation is 6x9÷5-1=
In python, it would be 6*9/5-1=
To get the answer you have to put control+Enter.
If you want to give it a try then click here
Last but not least today I started Koru art and I got some inspiration from Raewyn Harris she has some amazing pieces of art. I haven't completed my Koru yet so I'll upload it in next week's post!
Have you ever used python before?
What is your favourite piece of art by Raewyn?
That's all for this week!
Stay safe!

My Last Week of Online School!
This week is my last week of online learning!
I'm excited and sad about going back because even though I get to see my friends I like learning in my own environment.
In this blog post, I'm going to tell you my favourite Literacy and Numeracy of the week along with my Friday Tasks!
For Numeracy this week I learned how to multiply, divide, add, and subtract fractions.
We did some questions to get the hang of it and show our understanding and then we had to do an escape room. I liked the first one more because you were trying to solve a secret recipe to escape!
For Literacy this week my favourite task was taking a part of the wizard of Oz and flipping it in to something darker.
Here it is!

Dorothy had just returned back to the emerald city after slaughtering the Wicked Witch with the Tin Woodman’s Axe and the Lion ripping her into a thousand pieces.
Dorothy and the rest of her group took the head of the witch back to Oz as proof of her death. Dorothy and the Tin Woodman were holding the head by the witches fried black hair, her skin was a light grey and blood kept dripping down and had made a purple trail of blood showing where they had come from. They had been walking for a night and half a day now and they were getting hungry but had no food at all, and they could only see grass in every direction. While Dorothy went into some bushes looking for berries, or anything edible The Lion snapped and looked at Toto, The Lion got low and pounced at Toto and bit him right in the middle! Toto barked and whimpered and howled just hoping Dorothy would come and save her, while Toto barked the Tin Woodman started crying because he had to watch the poor dog die and that made him rust before he could even think about hurting the Lion with his axe.
By the time Dorothy came back, the Lion had eaten Toto and dented the Tin Woodman beyond repair and ripped up the scarecrow, when Dorothy came back and saw straw everywhere she screamed and yelled at the Lion “What have you done?! And where is Toto!??”
The Lion looked at her and said: “I’m so sorry, I couldn’t help myself!”
Dorothy looked at the Lion with the Tin Woodman’s axe in her hand and said: “How dare you, I let you come with me to Oz, I was trying to help you but now, now that you have destroyed the rest of my friends here I’m going to destroy you!!” With that Dorothy swung the Woodman’s axe and the Lions head just flew right off and blood went everywhere but Dorothy just had to keep going and try to forget.
Last but not least are my Friday tasks!
This Friday I made a perfect environment for my chosen animal and created a bedroom I would like.
For my chosen animal I picked my brother so in his sanctuary I have
- A PS4
- Fortnite
- A couch that folds out to a bed
- Lots of water
- Drawers
- Shelves
- Food Cupboard
- And a trampoline
To finish the online activities I made a bedroom on Minecraft.
The bedroom included
- A bed (obviously)
- Chests/Drawers to put stuff in
- Lots of books to keep you entertained
- A desk to draw and do school work.
- And a computer.
These were my favourite activities of the week!
What would be in your dream room?
Have you ever done an escape room?
Bye!!

My Lovely Learning!
Hi Readers,
This week I only had 3 days of school since Monday was ANZAC day and Tuesday was Teacher only day.
For math, we learned about how to use a Cartesian plane and how to do transformations on it.
I found these tasks relatively easy since I was already familiar with Cartesian planes.
The first two transformations we looked at on the Cartesian Plane were Translation and Reflection, and on Monday we'll be looking at Resizing and Rotation.
The images above are three shapes and the transformations of them.
For Literacy this week we looked into the themes of Perseverance and Home from The Wizard of Oz.
And the questions on the theme of home.
You may notice it says Q2 & Q3 that's because the first question is to do with the end of the book and I haven't quite finished yet.
Last but not least for Friday Fun day I made a board game and a made-up animal.
I can't include a picture of the board game because I haven't coloured it yet, but I can show you the rules for 'Escape the Upside-down'
*Sorry I can't, it won't let me send through the email.*
For my animal, I made a Zataphant which is a cross between a Cat, Zebra, and an Elephant.
*Same here :'(*
That's all for this week!
See you next week!

Day 5 Week 2 of Online school!
Hi Bloggers!
Today I kept myself busy by making poppies, turning phrases into emojis, and writing about my Android.
My first activity was turning a reusable new world bag into a poppy.
for this, I used the bag, wood, hammer, nails, scissors, paint, and paintbrushes.
I cut the bag into circles and put a black circle in the middle then I put the nail in the center and hammered the circles together, then I hammered them into the wood.
I thought it looked kind of boring so I painted the wood green as if it was a stem.
Then I looked at some phrases I liked and tried to turn them into emojis.
Can you guess what they are? Comment what you think!
Last but not least is all the things you need to know about my Android.
I won't be posting till Wednesday because of the long weekend, stay safe, Bye!

Day 4 Week 2 of Online learning!
Hi Readers,
Today I started off with Literacy, I had to write what I thought it meant to have brains.
In math, I started creating an Android and writing down what transformations I had to use for each object.
This is my Android, I may do some changes tomorrow.
It isn't what I would call your stereotypical android, the features on it are definitely different, some of the features are...

- And the bumps on the top say 'Made by Kasey'

For the past couple of weeks, we learned about bedmas.
This animation shows how it works and that I understand.

Look what maths I can do!
For the past week in maths, we were looking at BEDMAS,
here is an equation that you could try!
6 -:-2 (1+2)=
1+2=3
6-:-2=3
3x3=9
Try out this one!
16-5-:-4(5x7)-6

My Math Goals This Term
Hi Bloggers
So every Wednesday after school for 20-30 minutes doing bricks.
While working I'll be learning about converting decimals into percentages, learning about exponents and the greatest common factors!
Here's the link to my evidence!
What are your Math goals this term?

Goal Reflections Term 1
Writing Goal: I will proofread & edit my work for spelling, punctuation and grammar. - I think that I have completed this goal thanks to the amount of writing we have done this term!
Reading Goal:I will read novels & be able to analyse the characters, settings, plot & themes in great detail. - I am exciting to go
into this next term, and do novel studies next term.
Math Goal: I will find the rule in patterns and express this rule as a fnto this formula - I think that I'm over half way up the goal ladder so by the end of next term I may have completed it.

My Goal Ladder for Term 1
This is my goal ladder for Term one this year. The symbols represent where I am at, because I have only recently set my goals I haven't managed to move up yet. By the end of the term I hope I would have accomplished my goal.
