Our Parachute!

 Hello Bloggers!

Today we've been making and testing parachutes! We had to make sure that it could...

  • Hold 2 hex nuts
  • Be as slow as possible
  • Go straight down

We started off by making a small one out of fabric and it kind of looked like a shower cap. It was so small that it didn't even make a difference and it went to fast.

We then made some random sheets of paper towels because they are light and we can make it as big as we need. This one was better because it was light and big so it slowed down the descent.

Here are some pictures!

Sorry the pictures aren't great quality.

Anyway see you next week.

My Quirky Poem!

Hello Readers,
In Literacy, we tried making poems in a similar style of Dr. Seuss.
The reason we're doing this is that we are learning about children's books and how to write one, and what to include.

Here is my poem (It's not meant to make complete sense).

Bill and Phil went to the windmill.

They grabbed the grill and it made a shrill.

Bill went to cook the chook.

Phil threw his hook at the book that was next to the chook.

Bill felt ill and Phil gave him a lick and told him he was sick.

Bill did miss Phil so he gave him a kiss.

With my poem, the word chook means chicken, because apparently it's a strange word and not many people use it.

That's all!
What's your favourite Dr Seuss Book?
Have you ever written a poem?
